Military Recruitment and Federal No Child Left Behind Act

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) govern how students’ education records are handled. The Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 requires that schools provide military recruiters with student names, addresses and telephone numbers on request. If parents or guardians would rather not have this information released, this preference must be indicated on the Columbia Virtual Academy High School Statement of Understanding and Release each year.
